Monument Clément Ader

Muret (Haute-Garonne), France 1930

Landowski was a fervent admirer of the inventions of his era and made several monuments to aviation. In this one, he coupled his fascination for the aviator with his interest for the mythical figure of Icarus. We note the way Ader is studying the flight of the birds in the bas-reliefs. The work was sculpted in stone in 1930.
