Shield of the Dead Jardin de la mairie du XVIè arrondissement, 75016 Paris 1928 This shield is covered in bas-reliefs chronicling the highlights of the history of France. It’s impressive size (2.55m x 1.77m) allows it to evoke the Proclamation of the Republic as well as the Declaration of Human Rights and the night of August the 4th. The original plaster is in the Musée de Boulogne-Billancourt.
