Victory Monument, Morocco Casablanca, Morocco (Senlis, France) 1924 Commissioned by the Casablanca Veterans Association, this limestone monument was begun in 1921. Landowski used two mounted herdsmen he encountered in the Roman countryside as inspiration for the work. The bas-reliefs represent different battles involving Moroccan soliders and the inscriptions are in Arabic and French. The monument was dismantled in 1961 and currently stands in Senlis (Place du Troisième Houzard).
